4th Estate, or 5th Column? - Obama-Ayers coverup

Forgive my long absence, but I've been busy earning a living so I can provide a large percentage of my income to the treasury, in order that I might pay my share of the cost of destroying my country.

This from a labor website (“These are the people in my neighborhood, in my neighborhood…”):

"That guy who lives in my neighborhood"

And this from the wacky, wonderful world of Chicago politics – Obama’s “briar patch”:

Ayers-Obama Annenberg connection

Sensible people could be forgiven for asking why Obama goes to such great lengths to obscure the quality and length of his relationship with this traitor. Obama and his supporters are counting on the ignorance and gullibility of the American public. Sadly, thus far, it would appear that their confidence is well placed. Our gullible electorate takes the absence of reporting on this and many other subjects, as evidence that there must be something exculpatory of which their “gate-keepers”, the mainstream media, must be aware. “Don’t look behind that curtain, there’s nothing there. Trust us.” Otherwise, why would journalists pass up an opportunity to break such momentous news to the public? That’s their mission in life, right?
(Wasn’t it “The National Inquirer” that finally broke the widely-known story of John Edwards’ peccadilloes to the country? Apparently, “inquiring minds” are nowhere to be found amongst the MSM.)

With the press 4-square behind Obama, it is a virtual certainty that this information will be kept under wraps by those charged with providing it to us. I’ve heard it said variously, that “The fact that the media, in a number of polls conducted by a variety of pollsters, vote from 80-90% democrat, doesn’t seem to be having any appreciable affect on the voters’ commitment to one party or the other”,  and that “They are professionals. They are capable of putting their own opinions aside when reporting the news to us.”

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry!

On the first bit of nonsense, I’m certain that it will come as a shock to both Madison Avenue and the intelligence community that overwhelming the market place with information forced through the sieve of a particular point of view has no effect on what the consumers of that information believe. The entire advertising business is based on the premise of “shaping public perceptions”, and it is the major premise behind the art of propaganda, an indispensible tool in any military campaign, or intelligence effort.

On the second point, is it only liberals who are capable of this impressive intellectual feat of objectivity? I think I detect a note of condescension here.

The fact is, that is precisely what they think. Most liberals don’t think of themselves as adherents of an ideology. To their way of thinking, they are above all that. Liberalism is simply unassailable, irrefutable, obvious truth, requiring no defense. Because it requires no defense, they don’t feel obliged to prepare one. They have the high ground, morally, intellectually, and philosophically, simply by virtue of declaring themselves liberals. How convenient! It reminds me of a friend of mine who, upon his first and only marriage at the age of 50, confided in me, “This is great! I don’t have to think anymore!”

Anyone who takes issue with their beliefs must therefore be either incredibly dense, or downright evil. It is the only evil they admit to in their universe, everything else being “relative”. This is why they are so perplexed by factual arguments, and refuse to debase themselves by addressing the substance of them. They will resort to any rhetorical cheap trick to change the subject (ad hominem attack, “So you believe …”, “What about the conservative who …”, "Nobody complained when...", "Everybody knows...", etc.), rather than present a substantive rebuttal to a substantial argument.

Socialism, and by extension liberalism, is the political philosophy of those who believe, as did Marx, that human beings can perfect themselves (“The New Socialist Man”), and that these perfected individuals are capable of wielding concentrated power with a wisdom and efficiency that eclipses the collective wisdom and efficiency of the unwashed masses, with their clinging to liberty and freedom of choice (free-market capitalism), along with religion and guns. Coincidentally, to hear them tell it, virtually all liberals have achieved this lofty plateau of human evolution.

Our 4th estate has morphed into a 5th column, who, through their dedication to socialism, have necessarily dedicated themselves to the destruction of capitalism, free markets, and, by extension, liberty, the founding principle of our nation. It would take more logical gymnastics than I am capable of to defend the idea that you can be against liberty and still be a patriotic American. That’s the kind of superficial “thinking” that leads to liberalism.

Far more important than this or that particular alliance of Obama's, is the sheer number of them. The Ayers connection, taken in isolation, may offer some wiggle room for the candidate. The problem with Obama is the relentless, unrelieved string of these alliances throughout his entire adult life. One searches in vain for someone in his background, his circle, amongst his mentors, that is an unabashed patriotic American. His comradeship with Ayers must be taken in the context of all of his other relationships, before and since.

What is a "community organizer"? In Obama's case he is someone putting into practice the socialist political philosophy and tactics of Saul Alinsky. What I find so disconcerting about him is that he has been videotaped giving a speech to ACORN, bragging about his close association with them and his support for their work, yet he finds it necessary to hide this fact from the public. It indicates to me a more frightening prospect than his mere adherence to this morally bankrupt philosophy. It indicates a deliberate misrepresentation of that support to the American people.. That would seem to further indicate a measure of shame before the electorate regarding his involvement with ACORN, Ayers, Wright, Michelle, etc, that renders his candidacy for the presidency of the bastion of liberty that is America, as a cynical lust for power.

What is most disturbing about Obama is that every aspect of
his life, without exception, from his wife to his pastor to his vocations, is a reflection of a philosophy that is dedicated to the destruction of liberty, the founding principle of the nation he seeks to lead, and the economic expression of liberty - free-market capitalism, the undisputed heavy weight champion of prosperity.
